2010 Overnight Camp in Poland, Maine
Dates through July 12-30 for traditional overnight camp programs
1 week, 2 weeks, or NEW 3 week sessions

Our camp is located on beautiful Thompson Lake in Poland, Maine. Our facilities allow for campers to experience the outdoors, with 400 acres of outdoor beauty, full of hiking trails, playing fields, camp sites, a mile of waterfront on a clean, crystal clear lake, while still having on-site medical care at our new Health Center and wholesome meals served daily in our extraordinary Dining Hall. All meals are included, and one of our meal sponsors for our overnight camp program is the USDA's School Food Services.  We can give the experienced camper a new adventure by coming to our camp for 2 weeks or more, or help to ease a novice into the camping world through our 5 day camp program. Daily camp activities include sports, swimming, canoeing, sailing, ropes course, crafts, hiking, environmental workshops, leadership courses, special events, camping and more!

Program activities are age appropriate, with most activities divided by ages 8-11, 12-14, and our Teen Leaders, ages 15-17. The Teen Leadership Program offers both recreational and educational opportunities, as well as introduces participants to leadership development, community projects, career workshops, healthy recreation choices, and employment training.

Teen Leadership Application Process and Stipend Program:
Please note that the application for the Teen Leadership Program includes the Camper Application, as well as special forms for Teen Leaders. Applicants must also complete an essay (essay topic is noted in application packet), as well as complete TWO letters of recommendation, using either the sample form included in the application packet or any other standard recommendation letter or form. A phone interview will be set up to give the teen a great life experience in preparing for the future, as well as give staff insight into the best program to place the applicant.

Stipend program: Teens who are approved for this program will spend up to 5 hours per day in support role on camp, based on their experience, application, recommendations, and interview. Stipends are paid to teens who complete the full session; if they are asked to leave the program, they will not receive a stipend. Stipends will be mailed in their name to their home address in August.

Agassiz Village no longer offers Sports Camps or Day Camp in Massachusetts, but Malden Catholic High School and Camp Nihan, DCR camp in Saugus, MA are continuing with these programs through All Mass Camps, Inc.  You can find out more info at www.allmasscamps.org



Other Details

  • There is a $100 discount on 2 or 3 week sessions if paid in full by June 1; there is a $50 discount on 1 wk sessions if paid in full by June 1.

  • Transportation from Boston is available to overnight campers and the teen leaders for a fee of $25; this covers less than 50% of the cost of this transportation but it helps!
  • You can register for overnight and the teen leadership program with a $50 deposit.
  • All meals and snacks are included in the tuition fee.  Please do not pack food or send food care packages to ensure the safety of all campers with allergies.
  • We are an unplugged camp!  No Ipods, laptops, cell phones, handheld computer games, etc. needed to enjoy the company of new friends and new adventures!

Tuition Cost
One week session (5 days)                         Monday-Friday:                         $350
Two weeks session (12 days),                     Monday through following Friday: $700

Three week session (19 days)                     1st Monday-3rd Friday:               $1,050

 Don't forget the $100 discount for TWO OR THREE WEEK SESSION and $50 discount for ONE WEEK SESSION if paid in full by June 1.  Full refunds are available through June 1; after that date, and more than two weeks prior to session start date, full refund minus a $50 administrative fee will be refunded.  If cancellation occurs less than two weeks before start date, no refunds.
